Art that inspires
The SCHIRN KUNSTHALLE FRANKFURT is one of the most respected and distinguished exhibition halls in Europe. Opened in 1986, more than 220 exhibitions have been presented so far on more than 2,000 m² and seen by more than 8 million visitors. The SCHIRN focuses on topics of art and cultural history, discourses and trends from the perspective of the immediate present. The program is diverse, international and progressive. The museum tries to open new perspectives and break up traditional reception patterns. The exhibitions are equally devoted to contemporary art positions and modern art.
The Schirn sees itself as a place of discovery and as a seismograph for explosive developments in the fine arts. In doing so, it expresses contentious opinions, opens up debates and offers space for an active exchange on the relevance of art for our society.
